Accuracy of Two Three-term and Three Two-term Recurrences for Krylov Space Solvers
It has been widely observed that Krylov space solvers based on two three term re currences can give signi cantly less accurate residuals than mathematically equivalent solvers implemented with three two term recurrences In this paper we attempt to justify this di erence theoretically by analyzing the gap between the recursively and the explicitly computed residuals It is shown that in contrast ...

It is not hard to see (cf. [1, Section 4]) that Ed ⊆ Dd ⊆ Ed. Thus the problem that remains is to find out for which parameters r ∈ ∂Ed do we have r ∈ Dd. This question was addressed for the two-dimensional case in [3, Section 2]. It is easy to see that D2 is (apart from its boundary) an isosceles triangle. In [3, Section 2] ∂D2 was characterized for two sides of this triangle. To characterize ...
Dominant and Recessive Solutions of Self-Adjoint Matrix Systems on Time Scales
In this study, linear second-order self-adjoint delta-nabla matrix systems on time scales are considered with the motivation of extending the analysis of dominant and recessive solutions from the differential and discrete cases to any arbitrary dynamic equations on time scales. These results emphasize the case when the system is non-oscillatory.
